I am a friend of the author of this book and was asked to share my honest thoughts about this book on "Forward Leaning" and after going through it, I can confidently say that if you want to entertain yourself, read this book! Its also full of lessons and strategies in life.
The issue I have with this is the false assumption that a QUALIFIED physician who graduated from a medical school that meets US criteria was prevented from practicing medicine in the U.S. The Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduate Certification is an effective screening mechanism for ensuring that International Medical School Graduates in patient care situations have met minimum standards. Each year, thousands of IMGs in the certification process apply to ECFMG for USMLE. Just over half of these individuals are successful in completing all the examination and medical education credential requirements for ECFMG Certification. During the 20-year period from 1991 through 2010, more than 295,000 international medical students/graduates applied to take their first examination with ECFMG; of this number, 60.7% have achieved certification. Thus Dr. Sofia's was not a qualified physician.
You won't be able to put it down. It's an emotional roller coaster.
WOW! Very well written with deeply interesting characters and action sequences that kept me on the edge of my seat. Seems to be written by someone who writes war and crime from personal experience.
All action right from the start. Grabs your attention and doesn't let you go. Lots of killing, but war is war.

If your looking for your heart to race from the get go, this book is it! A scenic action packed history lesson all in one! Combat, lust, love and family. No time wasted!
