I chose this rating because this study guide is an excellent compliment to Jeff Cavins' Pslams Study Set: The School of Prayer (Great Adventure) DVD. (In fact, I am finding it even better than the previous Jeff Cavins study guide on the Biblical Book of Revelation that I previously reviewed.) I like all three parts---Questions, Responses, and Notes---of the study guide, but find the Questions section the most stimulating. I also like the loose leaf format. It allowed me to organize the sections in the order I that was most logical for my use. I have been reading/studying/praying the Psalms---1/week for the past 18 years--- so I’ve read/studied/prayed each psalm about 6 times, yet this study guide (although I’ve so far only completed 2-3 sessions) has given me new intellectual and spiritual insights into this Old Testament book of the Bible. Although I have always been affected by their words (sometimes, when reading my favorites, more than others), using this study guide has allowed me to see why by explaining and illustrating their poetic nature. In addition, it also explains and illustrates the history, New Testament significance, and organization/grouping of these “songs” both greatly enhancing my enjoyment as well as the meaningfulness of this discovery journey for me. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone who is would like to get a deeper understanding of this Biblical book (with or without the DVD).Product details

Loved this bible study.
The answers were not included. It was in very good condition. The price was okay. It is being used by others, too.
This is a great series by Jeff Cavins. Psalms are the heart of the Church prayer (after the Mass). Once you have done this course, you realize how important the psalms are to the Church and its prayer life. Ever notice how many psalms are in the Mass??
Our bible study group has been use the Jeff Cavins series for a couple of years now. Our class continues to participate in these series or sections of the bible. We are all satisfied and more knowledgeable about our faith at the same time. I would recommend to anyone wanting to dig deeper into their faith and for those that want a better grasp of the bible.
